This mural was a part of an exchange program where Detroit creatives and influencers went to France to create music, art and other creative content with Parisian artists.
The project took place in the west side of Paris not too far from The Eiffel Tower. It was in coordination with the pistons and local French Graffiti writers. In the spirit of representing both Detroit and Paris , the mural was specifically designed with aspects of each other's culture. The horse is a play on our Pistons team as well as the regard the french hold for Stallions. The colors circulation behind the horse stand for Detroit basketball colors and the Flag of France. Lastly, leaving the original graffiti behind all of it was to attach and respect the artist and their home. A true collaboration between Detroit and Parisian culture.
After many brainstorming sessions, we decided to trust our gut on how we would approach this opportunity and make it happen.
